Commercial Glazing Technical Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 130k/year - Marietta, GA

• Our client is an established commercial glazing contractor seeking an experienced Commercial Glazing Technical Manager to oversee complex commercial glass and glazing projects in the Metro Atlanta area. This position combines hands-on commercial glazing project management with technical oversight of interior glazing, storefront systems, heavy glass, glass and door hardware, fabrication, and installation.
• The Commercial Glazing Technical Manager will manage a portfolio of complex commercial glazing projects while serving as a technical resource for Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers. This role focuses on reviewing shop drawings and material orders, resolving constructability and installation challenges, coordinating technical project requirements, and providing mentorship to the project management team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage complex commercial glazing projects from release through completion, including project budgets, schedules, materials, fabrication, and installation.
• Perform final technical reviews of architectural drawings, glazing shop drawings, glass orders, and material specifications.
• Review submittals, glass and door hardware orders, and project documentation for accuracy and constructability.
• Provide technical oversight for commercial interior glazing, storefront systems, heavy glass installations, and associated hardware.
• Coordinate with CAD and drafting teams, fabrication personnel, field installation crews, vendors, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts, field measurement discrepancies, material compatibility issues, and installation challenges before fabrication or installation.
• Monitor project progress, change orders, schedules, and customer communications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers on commercial glazing project execution, shop drawings, material orders, and installation requirements.
• Support improvements to project management procedures, technical documentation, training, and quality control processes.

Qualifications:

• Substantial direct commercial glazing experience within commercial construction project management, including interior glazing, storefront systems, and heavy glass applications.
• Technical knowledge of commercial glass and glazing systems, glass and door hardware, fabrication processes, and field installation methods.
• Experience managing commercial glazing projects, including coordination of shop drawings, submittals, material procurement, fabrication, and installation.
• Experience reviewing architectural plans, CAD drawings, glazing shop drawings, hardware schedules, and glass or material orders.
• Experience identifying and resolving constructability issues, design conflicts, and technical installation challenges.
• Experience mentoring, training, or providing technical oversight to Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers.
• Experience managing multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD/CAD drawings, Procore, or comparable construction project management and drawing review software.

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 110k - 130k/year range
