The Commercial Lines Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing new and renewal business to multiple insurance carriers to obtain the most competitive coverage, pricing, and underwriting terms for our clients. Working closely with producers and account managers, this position analyzes client exposure, develops comprehensive marketing strategies, and prepares competitive proposals that support new business growth and client retention.
The ideal candidate is an experienced insurance professional with extensive knowledge of the independent agency marketplace, strong carrier relationships, and a commitment to deliver exceptional client solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
Market new and renewal of commercial insurance accounts to multiple insurance carriers.
Evaluate client exposures and insurance needs to determine the most appropriate market and coverage solutions.
Solicit, review, compare, and negotiate quotes from multiple insurance carriers.
Analyze coverage forms, endorsements, exclusions, pricing, and underwriting terms to identify the best overall insurance program.
Prepare proposal comparisons and coverage summaries for producers to present to clients.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carrier underwriters and marketing representatives.
Stay informed of carrier appetites, underwritten guidelines, product changes, and market conditions.
Collaborate with producers and account managers to ensure complete and accurate submissions.
Maintain accurate documentation of marketing activity within the agency management system.
Assist with account remarketing and renewal strategy to maximize retention and profitability.
Meet established service standards while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
Active Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience working for an independent insurance agency.
Demonstrated experience marketing commercial insurance with multiple insurance carriers.
Thorough knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance coverages, underwriting practices, and carrier appetites.
Strong negotiation skills and experience working directly with carrier underwriters.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Professional insurance designations such as CIC, CISR, CPCU, CRM, or ARM are a plus.
Experience with comparative rating systems and carrier marketing platforms.
