Commercial Laundry Operator

Description

Primary responsibility:

• With proper training, Operate the sort station separating the different types of linen that are arriving from hotel customers.
• Breakdown the bundles received in carts and place on conveyor leading up to station.
• Communicate the changes in customers, categorize, and enter the changes in the computer screen.
• Divide linen at the sort deck, separating the various pieces into the correct bins.
• Move carts around the area, loaded and unloaded, sterilize the carts and stage in the holding area, keep floor free of water using the vacuum.

Secondary responsibility:

• Be able to operate, with proper training, any other work station as assigned by the floor Supervisor.
• Be able to operate, with proper training, the computer at the final weight station, review the contents of the carts to the production sheets and stage the carts according to the customer.
• Assist the delivery drivers in loading the carts for delivery and assist in unloading the carts with linen needing to be cleaned.
• Assist in moving carts into the different staging areas during the day as required by production.
• Clean all the staging areas daily in order to maintain a presentable environment, and quality product.
• Other duties as assigned consistent with the functions of this position as needed.

Requirements

• Must be a team player
• Strong verbal communication and ability to multitask.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and late nights.
• Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more.
• Must be able to lift/push/reach for/carry 50+ pounds frequently.
• Minimum of 6 months production experience, hospitality linen production experience preferred.
