The Commercial Lines (CL) Practice Leader owns the operational excellence of HUB’s Texas region Commercial Lines division, translating strategy into execution across sales, retention, and customer service. Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for being a resource to all of CL in the HUB Texas region
Communicate all National initiatives to the field operations in HUB Texas
Work with other CL leaders in the HUB West Super Region to determine appropriate strategy
Work with CL teams to ensure “best practices” are in place across the region, with authority to implement strategic changes in consultation with the Chief Operating Officer
Work in conjunction with the CSO, COO, and the Commercial Lines (CL) Service Managers to develop a vision and growth plan, attain and maintain profitability according to HUB Texas standards, and expand the department’s capabilities in small, mid-market, and specialty CL offerings
Promote interdepartmental resource sharing, identify cross selling opportunities and capitalize on similar association marketing
Working with the CL Service Managers and COO, concentrate on ways to fully integrate the CL sales, account service, underwriting/analytics and compliance functions
Work with the CL Service Managers to coordinate client service needs and expectations between the service staff and Producers
Work with the CL Service Managers and satellite offices managing the workflow of the service staff including the assignment of workload and account responsibilities
Influence and support strategic planning initiatives including development of CL staff
Strategize with CL Service Managers, COO, CMO, and CSO to retain business year over year enhancing value proposition, stewardship process and account management services
With the CSO, assist in developing sales and marketing strategies along with communications to optimize HUB’s position in the marketplace
Positively and proactively represent HUB in meetings, seminars, and networking events
Maintain and display a deep knowledge of CL carrier products and service level differentiation
Drive consistent and predictable long-term, profitable client relationships
Work with the Cross Sell Director to promote cross sales between CL and all other lines of business
Work with Area Presidents and Finance to support the development and management of department budget, pursue and achieve targets for key financial metrics, and control expenses per corporate guidelines
Champion the internal and external positioning of the HUB “brand”
Actively participate in Service management on day-to-day basis including satellite office visits regarding staff development (mentoring), plan execution, and training
Heping drive artificial intelligence (AI) adoption to improve operational efficiencies
Qualifications:
At least 10-15 years of progressive Commercial Lines (CL) insurance experience; majority must be within an agency, brokerage or consulting firm
Demonstrated track record as a Client Service/Account Executive or Team Leader in developing a consultative platform for account management
Specialty lines experience a plus
Demonstrated experience mentoring and directly managing staff
Ability to institute effective employee development and training procedures covering key areas
Understand ways to distinguish insurance brokerages through customer service, technology, special product offerings, association marketing, client communication strategies and alternative funding programs
A consultative, positive, and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients, and associates
Strong visibility within the local and national insurance communities
Highly developed organization and time management skills
Must be willing to travel between 5-20%
Excellent listening skills
Strong written and verbal communications
Strong degree of self-motivation
Demonstrated ability to lead/motivate others
Influential and persuasive with the ability to partner across HUB and work well with segment and other channel leaders
Must hold any insurance licenses required by applicable regulatory authorities to perform the duties of this role
