Job Description - Commercial Lines Risk Advisor



Full-time


Description

The Commercial Risk Advisor (CRA) is responsible for driving new business growth through client and Broker Associate referrals, as well as self-initiated marketing strategies. In addition to cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, the CRA manages renewal processes, ensuring smooth communication and optimal client retention. They work closely with account managers to deliver exceptional service, especially during sensitive situations. The CRA also plays a key role in business development by engaging in professional networking, creating relevant social media content, and pursuing industry-specific opportunities, while collaborating with the Personal Lines and SBU Benefits teams for cross-selling and referral initiatives.


Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to a diverse client base, including High Net Worth individuals, families, and traditional personal lines clients.
  • Manage all aspects of policy renewals, processing changes, endorsements, riders, and cancellations efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle client service requests proactively, identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities through cross selling and upselling.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's insurance products and services to effectively meet client’s needs.
  • Support the acquisition of new personal lines accounts and ensure high retention rates of renewing accounts.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of client’s exposures, loss history, and current coverage, providing proactive and tailored insurance solutions and recommendations.
  • Perform annual client reviews and meetings, presenting detailed stewardship reports, insurance schedules, and proposals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to provide informed recommendations to clients.
  • Maintain organized and accurate client records, documentation, and communication through the Agency Management System.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to uphold operational standards and maintain ethical business practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or other related fields is preferred.
  •  A minimum of Five years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on commercial lines account management or sales.
  • Hold current and valid Property and Casualty insurance license.
  • Hold at least one professional designation, such as CISR, CIC, CRM or other relevant programs or the ability and willingness to attain designation within 18 months.
  • In-depth understanding of commercial insurance products, coverages, and policies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct risk assessments, analyze coverage needs, and propose suitable solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously, ensuring accurate and timely policy processing and documentation.
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and underwriters to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Prior experience with AMS 360 and Image Right preferred.
  • Proficiency in orchestrating and hosting virtual meetings using platforms like Teams and Zoom, encompassing the capability to share screens and deliver presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, Proposals, etc.).
