Commercial Litigation Associate

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of post-law school experience to join a nationally recognized law firm. While the preferred location is the Kansas City office, the firm is open to candidates based in any of its U.S. office locations or on its virtual (remote) platform.

This position will primarily support attorneys within the firm’s Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation business unit and will involve working on a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of complex commercial litigation
• Conduct legal research and factual investigations
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Handle eDiscovery matters (preferably using Relativity)
• Take and defend depositions
• Communicate with clients and support mediation strategies
• Collaborate with cross-office litigation teams

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• 3–6 years of commercial litigation experience
• Admitted to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction, or willingness to gain admission promptly
• Experience with eDiscovery platforms, preferably Relativity
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Background in employment-related litigation is preferred
• Familiarity with AI tools used for legal research is a plus

Salary & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $205,000 – $230,000 (for Denver, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC; other markets will vary based on market data)
