Position Overview

Guardian Service Industries is seeking a Commercial Janitorial Operations Manager to lead and oversee janitorial service delivery throughout the DC METRO Market. This role is responsible for managing field operations, supervising staff, ensuring quality control, and maintaining strong client relationships across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep expertise in commercial janitorial operations, including floor care, staffing, and union environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and supervise janitorial teams across      multiple commercial accounts 
• Oversee daily operations to ensure high-quality      cleaning standards and client satisfaction 
• Develop, analyze, and adjust staffing plans and      schedules to meet service requirements 
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance      with company and safety standards 
• Measure and assess building spaces to support staffing      models, cost controls, and service scope accuracy 
• Recommend and implement improvements to cleaning      methods and operational efficiency 
• Manage union labor environments, including staffing,      sectioning, and progressive discipline 
• Oversee floor care programs (stripping, waxing, carpet      shampooing, etc.) 
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and inventory of      equipment and supplies 
• Utilize mobile technology (smartphone/tablet) for      inspections and reporting 
• Respond to emergency situations, including weather      events and facility issues 
• Execute special projects and additional assignments as      needed 

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience in commercial      janitorial operations 
• Strong working knowledge of janitorial services,      including floor and carpet care 
• Experience in union environments preferred 
• Understanding of scheduling, inspections, material      distribution, and payroll systems 
• Ability to read and interpret scopes of work and      service specifications 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic math skills 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Valid driver’s license required 
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and      emergency response 
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 30+ pounds

• Professional, flexible, and solutions-driven approach 
• Positive, team-oriented attitude 
• Spanish proficiency is a must
• DC Area residency preferred
