Job Description:

Collection Specialist

The Collections Specialist is responsible for resolving overdue bills and collecting payments from customers who have delinquent account balances.

Duties/Responsibilities:

•       Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts

•       Investigate account data for each debt or bill

•       Contact customers with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments

•       Take actions to encourage timely debt payments

•       Process payments as required

•       Resolve billing and customer credit issues

•       Update account status records and collection efforts

•       Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status

•       Performs other duties as assigned

•       Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software

Education and Experience:

•       High school diploma or equivalent

•       1-2 years billing/collections experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

•       Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

•       Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

•       Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
