Job Description - Commercial Operations Specialist (Internal Candidates Only)

Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of
Commercial Operations Specialist at our Shawnee, KS location.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned customers post-contract award, ensuring their needs are met and issues are proactively resolved.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Project Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance) to address operational challenges and ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Lead commercial discussions on change orders, scope adjustments, and unexpected issues, securing fair and mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Enhance and support the quotation process by identifying efficiencies, maintaining contingencies, and ensuring competitive, compelling proposals.

  • Partner with Business Development to strengthen RFP responses, develop best practices, and build resources to maintain high-quality submissions during busy periods.

  • Drive early-stage lead generation through market research, outreach, and initial client engagement to support business growth.

  • Contribute commercial insights and market intelligence to refine pricing strategies, service offerings, and overall business performance.



About You:



  • Proven experience in a commercial or business development role within the pharmaceutical, CDMO, or animal health sectors, ideally with exposure to contract manufacturing.

  • Solid understanding of the CDMO business model and commercial processes, with the ability to translate technical and operational information into customer-focused solutions.

  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with a track record of fostering trusted partnerships with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Confident communicator with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; experienced in developing clear proposals and compelling commercial narratives.

  • Highly collaborative, professional, and able to work cross-functionally to resolve commercial challenges and drive project success.

  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong commercial acumen and a focus on continuous improvement and delivering results.

  • Comfortable conducting market research, generating leads, and supporting the development of pricing strategies and service offerings
