General Overview of Position:

ARCXIS is seeking Plumbing Designers and Engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled in Plumbing Design and Engineering of commercial structures. This includes many aspects of the production of Waste/Vent Designs, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematics, Fire Sprinklers, building storm water drainage, and Site Plumbing in AutoCAD. Plumbing Designers and Engineers collaborate and partner across all disciplines to ensure the highest level of cross-disciplined design integration for a one-stop shop solution to our partners commercial design needs.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Job duties will be to produce Waste/Vent Design, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematic, Fire Sprinklers, building storm water drainage, and Site Plumbing in AutoCAD
• Plumbing Engineering and Design of single and multi-family, low and high-rise commercial design plans, amenity centers, clubhouses, etc.
• Generate detailed Plumbing Design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of design plans for bidding and construction
• Understand the design process from DD to CD
• Coordinate and attend meetings for all phases of projects from initial phase – to - completion to include: utility coordination, MEP internal coordination, and applicable tasks
• Respond to all electrical RFI’s and/or Shop drawings per the contractual deadlines
• Communicate directly with clients for problems & resolutions, provide expert advice and project specifications that aid client teams
• Provide estimated hours for new work based on estimated effort required
• Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD
• Work with design staff and drafters to complete project

• Strong AutoCAD background (preferred 10+ year’s experience)
• Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook, Teams
• Bluebeam
• The ability to read blueprints, both in CAD and final plans sets
• Compute dimensions from architectural plans
• Detail oriented and self-motivated
• Ability to work well with other engineers/designers
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Code Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the NSPC (National Standard Plumbing Code)
  • ICC International Codes
  • Uniform building codes
• Drive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments across multiple projects simultaneously with or without direct supervision throughout all phases of projects.

• CPD certification a plus

Requirements

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.
• Preferred 10-15+ years’ experience in Plumbing Design for commercial building systems, code compliance, and construction.
• Candidate should be able to work independently with little supervision designing plumbing designs from project kick-off to the completion of the project.
• Plumbing Design experience with production of Waste/Vent Design, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematic, Fire Sprinklers, building storm water drainage and Site Plumbing/utility coordination.
• Plumbing Design experience with mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed use buildings, residential/commercial and enclosed parking garages.
• Candidate should be able to refer to architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical drawings for coordination purposes across all disciplines, with regard to timeliness of project completion and deadlines.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
