Zurich North America is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Property Claims Handling Manager who is interested in leading and managing technical adjusters. This will be a great opportunity to join a management team of highly regarded experienced experts in the commercial insurance industry.

In this role, you will provide leadership, performance management, professional development and coaching, and technical direction to a team of technical professionals at varying levels of experience and that handle low to moderately complex Property claims. This includes conducting claim quality file audits, participating in claim reviews, approving claim payment/authority, creating and running team productivity reports, business problem solving, and ensuring compliance with best practices of the team. 

You will be regarded as a technical claims subject matter expert and instrumental in providing and ensuring customer service excellence through the development of partnerships with key internal and external contacts, including legal counsel, customers, insureds, underwriters, and brokers. 

You will be a change agent and may also have opportunity to participate in projects and initiatives that drive the Property Claims business strategy in alignment with the overall Claims organization, and gain visibility with the Claims senior leadership team. 

Occasional domestic business travel may be needed. 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims area
  OR


• Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims area
  OR


• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims area
  AND


• Customer service experience


• Experience with Microsoft Office


• Experience collaborating across work groups


• Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures


• Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Commercial Property Claims Experience


• Knowledge and skill of claims handling


• Negotiation experience


• Experience in line of business


• Excellent communication skills


• Analytical skills


• People management experience
