Job Description - Commercial Truck Center Service Advisor



The responsibilities of a Commercial Service Advisor/Consultant include greeting customers, listening to their needs, and scheduling appointments as needed. Write up work orders, manage job flow, estimate building and process invoices (including 3rd party billing platforms).  Work together to create as a team and help foster a positive, cohesive work environment.  You may also set up loaner cars.

Service Advisor Responsibilities:


 




  • Greet customers promptly




  • Obtain customer and vehicle information




  • Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer




  • Determine and recommend maintenance base on age, mileage and history of vehicle




  • Prepare a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts




  • Establish follow up time




  • Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the day, and update customers frequently




  • Verify that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order




  • Explain all completed work and charges to customers




 


Service Advisor Requirements:


 




  • Previous experience at a dealership is a plus-Ford and or Isuzu a plus




  • Ability to identify the problem quickly




  • Knowledge of automotive workings




  • Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction




  • Past experience as a service advisor, assistant lane manager or service consultant




  • Very energetic personality 




  • A desire for a long-term career with a growing organization




  • Personal and professional integrity




  • Computer skills and willingness to learn new programs




  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications




  • Minimum of 3 year in service department



  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


  • Basic computer skills




  • Positive, friendly attitude 




  • High school diploma or equivalent
