Service Writer
York, PA
Open Office and a team-oriented type environment:
Hours are M-F 8:00 am-4:30 pm
We’re looking for a multitasking wizard to be our next Service Writer – Cooking & Refrigeration in York. You’ll be the center of communication between our customers, technicians, and internal teams- keeping service requests flowing, parts moving, and work orders tight. If you love structure, know your way around a phone system, and can spot typos faster than a spellcheck, you’ll thrive here.
What You’ll Do:
- Double-check contact info and dig into customer notes before every service call
- Map out calls by geographic area and loop in the branch manager
- Monitor account aging (60+ days) and activate the escalation plan like a boss
- Secure POs or credit card info when required
- Create work orders for cooking & refrigeration (bonus points for speed and accuracy)
- Order, receive, and transfer parts from the Parts Department
- Fix up tech-entered work orders and bill ‘em out
- Make friendly post-service calls with scripted follow-ups
- Handle monthly statements and aging ARs with the branch manager's support
- Talk to manufacturers when needed
- Process accounts payable (PO invoicing, scanning, and attaching parts invoices)
- Assign work orders and keep dispatch on point
What You Need:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Stellar multitasking and organization chops
- Calm and confident phone presence
- Familiarity with service systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to interpret and act on ageing reports, AR/AP info
- Completion of a Successful background check and drug screen
- Must be 18 years of age minimum
What’s Nice to Have:
- Experience in HVAC, cooking, or refrigeration service

- A knack for problem-solving (and typo-catching)
