The Commissioning Manager – MEP is responsible for leading and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) commissioning activities across the project lifecycle. This role serves as a primary interface between the Owner, Design Teams, Vendors, Construction, QA/QC, Safety, and Third-Party Commissioning Authorities to ensure systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and in accordance with project specifications, energy requirements, and operational readiness goals.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Owner Coordination
Serve as OFCI Point of Contact (POC) for Owner Procurement Manager escalations.
Act as primary POC for Owner QA/QC and Commissioning leadership.
Lead coordination with BMS and EPMS teams to align commissioning strategy and execution.
Support Cx Agent (Iconicx) mobilization, logistics, office setup, and ongoing coordination.
Champion issue resolution across commissioning, construction, design, and vendor teams.
Commissioning Management
Manage Cx RFIs, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with design intent.
Lead management of Cx-related CSIs and CCDs in collaboration with project leadership.
Oversee resolution of design-to-vendor submittal deviations.
Define, manage, and enforce Cx vendor scope of work.
Act as primary owner of Cx scope and specifications with vendors, third-party partners, and the Owner.
Write and process Notices of Impact (NOIs) to the Owner in coordination with the MEP Project Manager.
Energy & Program Leadership
Serve as Primary Project Energy Manager, ensuring compliance with energy and sustainability requirements.
Lead Energy Program Management, including early planning, execution, and reporting.
Support Early ENS and PR planning and management activities.
Safety & Quality Integration
Lead development of the COHE Program in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
Support Cx Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) development and management.
Participate in and support Cx 6-Step Process development and implementation.
Meetings, Reviews & First-of-Kind Activities
Champion and coordinate Factory Witness Testing (FWT) activities.
Attend and support First-of-Kind (FOK) reviews and readiness events.
Support daily commissioning meetings with the Cx Agent and Owner.
Support and contribute to weekly ACC Issue Resolution Meetings.
