About the Role

We’re looking to bring on a laser sharp Communications & Brand marketer to define and amplify Chalk’s voice in the market. This is a rare opportunity to build a world-class comms and brand function from the ground up at a high-growth startup shaping the future of developer tooling and machine learning infrastructure.

You’ll partner closely with product and growth marketing to ensure every launch, campaign, and piece of content is consistent with our brand voice and reinforces a cohesive narrative — whether it’s serving the roadmap or demand generation strategy.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced, creative environments and is excited to translate complex, technical products into clear, compelling stories.

We work in-person Monday through Friday from our offices in NY, SF or LA. We don’t currently offer remote or hybrid positions.

What you will do

• Lead all communications efforts: Own press strategy, media outreach, and analyst relations, including building relationships with top-tier reporters and influencers.


• Define and evolve our brand: Build a cohesive brand identity that scales across product, marketing, and community touchpoints.


• Create and distribute content: Write crisp press releases, thought leadership pieces, blog posts, and executive communications.


• Own and manage the content calendar: Plan, coordinate, and execute content across launches, campaigns, and ongoing brand storytelling.


• Partner with product and growth marketing: Align messaging, campaigns, and content with product launches, GTM initiatives, and broader growth strategies.


• Grow and engage our community: Develop campaigns and programming that strengthen Chalk’s presence among developers, data professionals, and enterprise buyers.


• Own social and digital strategy: Drive social media content and engagement strategies that reflect our voice and support key launches and initiatives.


• Build narratives: Partner with leadership to frame Chalk’s story in ways that resonate with media, analysts, customers, and prospective hires.


• Support executive visibility: Prepare speaking points, bylines, and media prep for Chalk’s leadership team.


• Measure and optimize: Use data-driven insights to refine campaigns and ensure impact across communications channels.

What we’re Looking For

• 5–7 years of communications, PR, or brand experience—ideally in B2B SaaS, developer tooling, or enterprise technology.


• An exceptional writer who can translate technical concepts into clear, engaging language.


• Skilled in media relations, from securing top-tier coverage to managing inbound requests.


• Experienced in building and executing integrated brand campaigns across press, social, video, and digital.


• Comfortable owning and executing a content engine that fuels Chalk’s GTM efforts across the customer lifecycle.


• Familiarity with PLG motions and developer communities, understanding how to craft messages that resonate authentically.


• Creative and resourceful, with a strong sense of storytelling and design aesthetics.


• Comfortable working closely with executives and cross-functional teams, especially product and growth marketing.


• Experienced in analyst relations, video content production, and managing agencies.

Bonus Points

• Experience with ML/data infrastructure or developer products.


• A strong rolodex across alt-media and developer communities.


• Experience organizing or sponsoring developer events, meetups, or conference presences.
