Job Description - Communications Coordinator


Essential Functions

  • Create and distribute content for internal and external platforms, including email newsletters, websites, and social media
  • Support the planning, messaging, and execution of organizational events
  • Design branded communications including reports, presentations, brochures, and flyers
  • Provide responsive and professional service to internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Coordinate inventory of event and marketing supplies to ensure timely availability and consistent brand representation
  • Curate and maintain a digital library of image and video files
  • Manage email distribution list database, regularly updating contact records, segmenting audiences, and ensuring data accuracy to support effective communication campaigns
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

 


Requirements

 

  • Knowledge of Canva, Mailchimp, Adobe InDesign/Illustrator, Microsoft Office, and WordPress
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and scheduling/analytics tools
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive organizational information
  • Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Preferred, but not essential:
  • Photography, video editing, and multimedia skills
  • Spanish language proficiency
  • 1–3 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related role
  • Degree in public relations, marketing, communications or a related field
  • Experience in lieu of a degree is welcomed
  • Valid CA driver’s license
  • Proof of insurance
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30–50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during events
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks such as setting up displays, transporting materials, and organizing inventory
