Job Summary:

The
Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) seeks a dynamic and experienced full-time Communications Program Manager to develop, implement,
and manage a comprehensive communications plan. This position will support and assist in leading the development and execution of
communication and marketing strategies that promote the work of the DBMI which includes focus areas in research and education. The
Communications Program Manager will manage efforts that include social media and website management, blog writing, graphic design,
coordinating communications at and around events, public relations, and communications within the department. This position will ensure that
developed content is compelling, accurate, relevant, current, and consistent with CU brand messaging.

This position requires strong
attention to detail and consistency in messaging, the discipline to complete tasks, and the ability to work with all levels of staff and
faculty. The ideal candidate will be strategic with a proven track record in leading communication efforts, managing content creation and
enhancing the department's internal and external presence.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with DBMI
leadership to develop a strategic plan and lead all communications efforts for the DBMI in alignment with the plan.
Develop,
implement, and coordinate internal and external communications in line with all University branding and communication requirements.

Manage social media channels for DBMI and develop, monitor, and track social media activities.
Produce a monthly newsletter and
internal announcements.
Create videos and graphics design for social media.
Collaborate with the School of Medicine Web
services team to maintain, update, and create new website pages for DBMI / Labs.
Report analytics from all digital channels to
leadership quarterly, or as needed. Adjust strategy as needed per analytic reporting to improve outcomes.
Collaborate with
colleagues with communications offices at the School of Medicine, CU Anschutz Medical Campus, UCHealth, Children's Hospital Colorado,
Veterans Affairs, and other partners as appropriate.
Connect with the faculty, trainees, and staff to identify and develop
story/blog ideas and content writing.
Coordinate activities centered on internal and external communication, including the DBMI
annual retreat and appreciation events.
Attend campus communications meetings as needed.
Attend various national meetings
in Biomedical Informatics to promote DBMI as needed per the strategic plan
Participates and/or assists in special projects.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid
schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field from an accredited college or university
Four (4) years of
experience designing and executing marketing and communication strategies.
A combination of education and related
technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. A master's degree in a directly
related field from an accredited institution may be substituted for up to two (2) years of experience.

Applicants must meet
minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five (5) or more years of
experience designing and executing marketing and communication strategies.
Three (3) years of experience analyzing outcome data to
make strategic decisions and/or recommendations.
Experience marketing higher education.
Experience working in a web
content management system (Sitefinity).
Experience with graphic design and video editing.
Experience with University
events, travel, and procurement policies and procedures.
Previous experience working in an academic medical environment.

Experience with project management tools, such as Smartsheet, Basecamp, MS Teams, etc.
Event planning experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution and with geographically
distributed collaborators.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
Ability to understand and
apply current marketing and communications trends and make data-informed recommendations.
Demonstrated commitment to advance

Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative.
Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely
manner.
Exceptional independent writing skills and experience developing clear, concise, and key message-focused
communications.
Excellent knowledge of editing and grammar, including AP style.
Demonstrated ability to capture the voice
of a brand/person and deliver it consistently.
Highly organized and dependable; able to multitask, work quickly and effectively,
and manage numerous deadlines with minimal supervision.
Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team
environment.
Dedicated to producing excellent work and excellent customer service.
Goal and deadline oriented.

Experience with or ability to prioritize often divergent requests from stakeholders.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

$65,105
- $88,000 .

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the
range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
