Cornerstone is a $5.5 million organization that provides comprehensive services for individuals and families in the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking or general crime. Pay Range:  $49,000-$51,000 annually

Job Summary:
The Team Lead’s primary role is to provide individual advocacy, coaching, and case management services to victim/survivors as they progress toward economic and housing stability in our Emergency Services and Community & Economic Empowerment Services programs. Advocacy is provided in a participant-centered, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and empathetic manner to victims of violence and abuse. This position collaborates with external partners and system professionals to meet the needs of all victims/survivors.

In addition, the Lead position will have elevated responsibilities, including: 1) providing informal mentorship and support to the CEES team; 2) provide guidance to all CEES advocates daily regarding conflicting cases and/or data entry; and 3) helping to build essential community partnerships, including outreach. A significant part of this role will include collaborating with the Housing Stability Supervisor to address the needs of advocates and community partners.

Services are provided in the office and/or in the community. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday and may require occasional evenings and weekends.




Experience/Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing direct services, preferably assisting unhoused individuals navigate the complexities of the social service system to address housing, financial, and other critical needs. Knowledge and experience in working with diverse, marginalized, and underrepresented communities, and anti-oppression work. A bachelor’s degree in social work or related field or experience in the social service field are a plus.
  • Experience providing direct services and advocacy to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence, and/or human trafficking using a survivor-centered and trauma-informed approach.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the interconnection between poverty, homelessness, and domestic violence.
  • Effective communication skills. Fluency in another language is a plus. 
  • Ability to welcome and engage a diverse group of stakeholders with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Understand and work from the agency’s set of values and philosophical approaches; including harms-reduction/housing first, trauma-informed care, violence as a learned behavior, client-centered and led work, etc. Ability to set and uphold professional boundaries.
Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable vehicle are required for this role.

Essential Functions:
The responsibilities and work hours for this position will be divided between providing support for the Rapid Rehousing program, SAFE program, Family Assets for Independence in Minnesota (FAIM), and Financial Wellness Education workshops. Additionally, the role includes data entry and other administrative tasks.

 
  • Enroll and support participants through Cornerstone’s FAIM program.
  • Responsible for facilitating financial wellness education workshops monthly.
  • Assist with all reporting requirements under the FAIM and Financial Education workshops.
  • Maintain complete and timely records in our databases in compliance with Cornerstone and stakeholders.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of program materials.
  • Maintain accountability of high-quality services and decision making, including assistance with oversight of documentation of services in Apricot.
  • Provide guidance to all CEES advocates daily regarding conflicting cases and/or data entry.
  • Assist in hiring, orientation and training of program staff and interns as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain training outline and materials in collaboration with Housing Stability Supervisor.
  • Assist Housing Stability Supervisor with participant file audits on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare materials and deliver training to community partners to increase understanding of CEES services and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain tools that assist advocates in performing their direct service duties.
  • Network with community organizations to increase connection and collaboration for the benefit of Cornerstone participants and advocates.
  • Work closely with Cornerstone advocates to ensure a streamlined process of internal referrals for participants accessing other program services.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor that support overall program services and services to survivors/victims.
