Job Overview:
The Community Engagement Generalist will be focused on supporting overall community engagement efforts at Family Futures. This is a part-time position, working up to 24 hours each week, and this position will end December 31, 2026 unless additional funding is secured. This position will consist of managing various projects that fall into the programmatic, communications, financial, and human resource areas of the organization, pertaining to the community engagement team. These projects include tasks such as data management, trauma and resilience training support, general office tasks, event prep and clean-up, and direct support for the community engagement team. The Community Engagement Generalist will also help support community engagement efforts by attending and supporting community events and partnerships, and helping with parent facing efforts, such as parent cafes and the Family Advisory Board. This position will also have some administrative duties for the community engagement team, such as scheduling meetings and taking notes as needed.
This position will be a hybrid position – working out in the community (including nights and weekends), at the Family Futures office a minimum of three days per week, and from home at times. This position also may require lifting boxes of paper (roughly 25lbs) and transporting various items in the community with the use of a personal vehicle. In addition, Family Futures requires all staff to comply with a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Lastly, use of personal cell phone and access to Internet service may be a requirement of this position.
Role and Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
The Community Engagement Generalist ideally would have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the related fields: communications, business, human services, non-profit administration, child development, social work, or some combination of formal and informal education and experience sufficient to demonstrate proficiency. The ideal candidate should also have a minimum of one-year experience in a related job/field. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and, in a team setting, either in the office or while working remotely.
