POSITION SUMMARY 

The Community Engagement Manager executes outreach strategies. This engagement will focus on developing new relationships with businesses, individuals, and other relevant organizations while converting these Leads into Contacts.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR: Increase number of engaged contacts

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Pray daily for the mission of Coalition Life
  • Manage and schedule a team of  volunteers and potentially other staff members
  • Participate and give reports at weekly “Level 10” meetings with your department
  • Plan and execute local outreach events such as prayer vigils and/or March on the Arch 
  • Oversee the composition, design, and distribution of physical/digital materials related to outreach, including emails, magazines, and mailers 
  • Conduct outreach efforts to local churches, schools, and other groups/organizations in order to gain contacts 
  • Handle media relations and promote through press conferences or press releases
  • Recruit and manage volunteers for office needs and outreach events 
  • Ensure the outward facing image of Coalition Life embodies the organization’s core values and mission at all times  
  • Oversee the composition, design, and maintenance of the Coalition Life website
  • Oversee the management of organization's social media accounts 
  • Liaise with current supporters to ensure healthy engagement and relationships with the organization 
  • Convert leads into contacts 
  • Maintain bulk email database (e.g., Mailchimp)
  • Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities 
  • Collaborate and assist in the organization of special events, including fundraising initiatives as needed

Definitions

Contact: A contact is a person who has donated at least $1 to, purchased something at least $1 for, or volunteered at least 1 hour for Coalition Life.  The person must have a record in Salesforce containing at least a phone number, email or mailing address (preferably all three).  This person’s record must be marked “Supporter” and not inactive/deceased or client.  In some cases one donation can be given by multiple people in a household.  In these cases the “soft credit” given to the spouse or other household members would constitute them being a contact.

Lead: A lead is a person who has given Coalition Life at least one piece of contact information, such as email, phone number, or mailing address.  These leads will need to be converted into contacts through various “asks” or engagement opportunities.

Sidewalk Counseling Expectations 

Regardless of your specific job description, all employees are expected to participate in sidewalk counseling unless otherwise exempt due to personal, physical, or medical restrictions.  Frequency of sidewalk counseling may vary depending on the specific job duties of the employee and the needs of the organization.

Exemption from sidewalk counseling duties must be approved by your supervisor in conjunction with the Director of Client Outreach.  Refusal to participate in sidewalk counseling efforts without the appropriate exemption may result in disciplinary action. 


Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree; or at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
