Santa Fe Recovery Center is a leading provider of substance use disorder and mental health treatment and education services. We are looking for a full-time Community Engagement Specialist - Tribal Liaison to join our team at our Gallup offices. We offer a competitive salary of $37,440 - $45.760 and the Benefits shown below. Experience working in the Healthcare Industry and/or Non-Profit is highly preferred. Summary: 

The Community Engagement Specialist – Tribal Liaison, reporting to the Director of Prevention & Recovery, plays a pivotal role in strengthening Santa Fe Recovery’s relationships with tribal partners. This position is responsible for developing and executing targeted outreach strategies, collaborating with tribal leaders to identify community needs, and creating culturally appropriate programs and initiatives. The specialist ensures effective communication and cohesive messaging in partnership with the Marketing and Communications Manager, including multilingual and tribal outreach. As the primary point of contact for tribal communities, the specialist advocates for their interests and facilitates their active participation in the organization’s projects and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Community Engagement Specialist - Tribal Liaison: (Included but not limited to)

You'll report to the Director of Prevention and Recovery and:

  • Represent SFRC at conferences and community events as a visible and approachable advocate.
  • Educate community partners and providers about the comprehensive services and programs available at Santa Fe Recovery.
  • Actively seek and establish partnerships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders.
  • Assist in organizing and executing community events, including logistics and preparations.
  • Support the development and execution of social media campaigns and other promotional strategies, ensuring they are culturally appropriate and effectively reach target audiences.
  • Provide culturally informed consultation to ensure outreach and engagement activities are sensitive to the needs of community members. 
  • Disseminate accurate and up-to-date information on our treatment center.
  • Provide guidance on the admissions process and facilitate easy access to SFRC services.
  • Collaborate with partners to create mutually beneficial initiatives aligned with SFRC's mission.
  • Work with Marketing & Communications to organize events, workshops, and presentations to engage the community and raise awareness about substance use and mental health treatment options.
  • Collect and maintain accurate data and records of services provided, including but not limited to Electronic Medical Records (EMR), intake documents, and other records of demographic information and services provided.
  • Works closely with the HRSA Grant Evaluator to gather, analyze, and report data as required.
  • May drive a van/bus; complete daily vehicle inspection report, keep van/bus clean, and maintain all safety conditions in the van/bus.
  • Attend events where booth set up is required and heavy lifting, up to 25lbs, is needed.
  • Maintains ethical and confidentiality rules and regulations in accordance with SFRC policies and procedures and HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Excellent customer service skills.
  2. Detail-oriented and organized.
  3. Computer literate, including advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with EHR & CRM systems.
  4. Works well with diverse populations.
  5. Must attend all Mandatory Staff Meetings and/or workshops as required.
  6. Ability to problem solve and consistently meet reporting deadlines.
  7. Familiarity with other community-based organizations and continuum of care.
  8. Works well with diverse populations.
  9. Proven experience in community engagement, partnership development, or a similar role.
  10. Flexibility (The position will require some evenings or weekends.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in human services-related field; Master’s degree and clinical licensure preferred.
  2. At least two years working with the SUD population in a clinical setting, outpatient setting, or care coordination experience is preferred.
  3. Experience working with federal grants preferred.
  4. Sales and/or marketing experience.
  5. Valid Driver’s License; must also have and maintain a spotless driving record and auto insurance.
  6. Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred (English/Spanish) (English/Navajo)
