Job Description - Community Inclusion/Employment Specialist

Want to make a difference in your community and be part of an inclusive, welcoming team that values people and purpose?



The Community Inclusion/Employment Specialist works directly with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build self-empowerment and relationship-building skills assisting them in their personal and professional lives. This position partners with our local community to locate and provide accessible non-paid, non-disabled specific community opportunities for our Community Inclusion clients and offer resources to help people find, secure, and keep jobs, including resume writing, interview practice, skill training, and connecting with employers for Individual Employment clients.



What You’ll Do



  • Support individuals in community-based activities, volunteering, social engagement, and employment-related goals

  • Assist with job readiness activities such as resume development, applications, interview preparation, and job coaching

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners and employers

  • Develop and track individualized, goal-oriented plans and document progress

  • Advocate for inclusion and accessibility within community and employment settings

  • Use technology and agency systems for scheduling, documentation, and reporting



Required Qualifications



  • High school diploma/GED

  • Valid Washington State driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check; obtain CPR/First Aid certification

  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete accurate documentation

  • Ability to work independently in community and office-based settings



Preferred Qualifications



  • 2+ years experience in human services or community-based experience (or AA/AS + 1 year)

  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or other diverse populations

  • Multilingual skills or experience working with diverse communities
