REPORTS TO: Administrator of Community Services

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: The Community Integration Trainer is responsible for providing supervision and training of individuals with disabilities in the work, community or instructional environment. Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with CWTC’s mission, policies, and in a manner that supports individuals with disabilities. All employees are required to attend mandated training sessions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Apply methodology from the Implementation Strategy in all service environments to support individuals in achieving personal outcomes
  2. Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  3. Develop and implement appropriate recreational and educational activities and experiences in accordance with the curriculum, daily routines, and individuals’ interests
  4. Train and assist individuals with mobility, including walking, and the use of mobility aids
  5. Follow personalized behavioral interventions outlined in the Implementation Strategy and/or Behavior Support Plan 
  6. Communicate effectively with coworkers, case managers, behavior specialists, and supervisory personnel regarding individuals.
  7. Execute assigned community outings including proving transportation and support to individuals 
  8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all designated Community Integration areas 

OTHER DUTIES:

  1. Supervise lunch program and break times   
  2. Serve as a liaison with the production department to ensure work is performed according to specifications
  3. Perform other tasks, not inconsistent with qualifications or regular duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical requirements include being self-ambulatory, lifting, bending, driving and writing. Environmental factors include working indoors around dust, cardboard, and moving equipment. Interpersonal factors include listening attentively to consumer concerns, giving verbal encouragement of proper work and behavioral habits, and being able to tactfully redirect improper behavior.

RELATED CONDITION: All employees are responsible for reporting any information, however acquired, pertaining to possible abuse or neglect of consumers to the Safety Director or the Executive Director.

SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION: Employees must follow all safety policies and use necessary protective equipment when applicable. Employees are responsible for reporting safety hazards and/or accidents to their supervisors immediately. 


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1.  High school diploma or equivalent
  2.  Experience working with adults with disabilities preferred
  3.  Valid drivers’ license and current auto insurance
  4.  Must be able to successfully complete DSP certification
