Community Liason (Minority AIDS Initiative)

SUMMARY: 

The Community Liaison or Tribal Liaison is responsible for advancing Santa Fe Recovery Center’s outreach and education efforts, with a focus on individuals at high risk for HIV, Hepatitis C, and substance use disorders (SUD). This role involves developing and executing targeted outreach strategies, engaging with clients and community members, and supporting culturally competent care. The CL&TL will work closely with the MAI Coordinator and Marketing team to ensure cohesive messaging and effective use of media, including multilingual and tribal community outreach. The CL&TL drives awareness and access to vital resources by organizing community events and providing education on substance use, HIV prevention, and stigma reduction. They also engage with external partners and clinics to promote prevention initiatives and ongoing client support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent SFRC at conferences and community events as a visible and approachable advocate.
• Educate community partners and providers about the comprehensive services and programs available at Santa Fe Recovery.
• Actively seek and establish partnerships with tribal communities, local organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders.
• Assist in organizing and executing community events, including logistics and preparations.
• Support the development and execution of social media campaigns and other promotional strategies, ensuring they are culturally appropriate and effectively reach the target audiences.
• Provide culturally informed consultations to ensure outreach and engagement activities are sensitive to the needs of community members.
• Disseminate accurate and up-to-date information on our treatment center and services provided.
• Provide guidance on the admissions process and facilitate easy access to SFRC services utilizing warm-hand offs with our Intake team.
• Collaborate with partners and key stakeholders to create mutually beneficial initiatives aligned with SFRC's mission.
• Work with Marketing & Communications to organize events, workshops, and presentations to engage the community and raise awareness about substance use and mental health treatment options.
• Collect and maintain accurate data and records of services provided, including but not limited to Electronic Medical Records (EMR), intake documents, and other records of demographic information and services provided.
• Works closely with the Grant Evaluation team to gather, analyze, and report data as required.
• May drive a van/bus; complete daily vehicle inspection report, keep van/bus clean, and maintain all safety conditions in the van/bus.
• Attend events where booth set up is required and heavy lifting, up to 25lbs, is needed.
• Maintains ethical and confidentiality rules and regulations in accordance with SFRC policies and procedures and HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2.

1. Excellent customer service skills.

3. Computer literate, including advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with EHR & CRM systems.

6. Familiarity with other community-based organizations and continuum of care.

8. Proven experience in community engagement, partnership development, or a similar role.
9. Flexible schedule (The position will require some evenings or weekends.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

1. Associate’s Degree in marketing, human services or related field;
2. 2 years sales and/or marketing experience;
3. 1 year of experience working in a Tribal government setting or within Tribal communities;
4. Strong teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to consult with subject matter experts from operational teams within the organization;
5. Valid Driver’s License - must also have and maintain a spotless driving record and auto insurance.
6. Reliable transportation.
