Qualifications (education, professional certifications, licenses, or experience). A Master's Degree in Social Work is
preferred. The ability to work effectively with high school-aged youth, educators, families, and communities is necessary.
Experience working in a school-based setting is essential. Knowledge of community organizing, student support services
and youth development principles. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
Prior event planning experience a MUST- Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency is preferred but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities -Develop strong relationships with school administration, teachers, parents, and
students to improve school success and program cohesion. Conduct a collaborative community assessment to determine
the ongoing needs of students and families- identify the needs of chronically absent students. Conduct outreach to students
and families and facilitate referral process to available resources. Coordinate and host monthly community events,
build community relationships, and assist with data collection. Advise a small caseload of 7 students.
Program-Specific Responsibilities: Adhere to the Non- discrimination and Equal Opportunity provisions for Workforce
Skills/Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business applications. Ability to use a computer
for prolonged periods. Ability to occasionally lift and or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, or sit for a long period
of time. Ability to climb five flight of stairs, if required, to conduct home visits and or fieldwork. Ability to bend and retrieve
objects and or documents. Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of
weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and or fieldwork. Advanced-level professional
competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is
mandatory.
