Client is a New Jersey based multilingual communications and community outreach firm. The firm is seeking a Community Coordinator (Coordinator) for a transportation/infrastructure project. The Coordinator is an important point of contact for communities on this transportation/infrastructure project. The Coordinator will be asked to disseminate project information to stakeholders and the general public. The Coordinator will also be responsible for responding to community needs, as well as providing regular updates and advisories.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (MAY INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING)
Coordinate with stakeholders, constituents, project team, and contractors
Coordinate and work closely with team members
Coordinate outreach activities and support media events
Update the Project website
Support Project Communications Officer
Engage with the community
Respond to community concerns and inquiries
Attend community meetings and events
Perform administrative tasks as needed
Develop, maintain, and keep a calendar of community events, including Ethnic/Religious Festivals, Street Fairs, Marathons and Parades
Develop a Community Notification Network, identifying key community institutions and organizations by name, association, and address.
Preparation of informational materials, including construction notices and electronic communications, notices, newsletters as needed. Provide write-ups for inclusion in the newsletters.
Provide photos and videos of project events
Perform project area surveys
Ensure email distribution lists are established
Document project progress
All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong oral and written communications and problem resolution skills.
Extremely organized and detailed oriented
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience in construction/transportation/infrastructure sectors preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B. S. or B. A.) Minimum of five (5) years of experience preferably with New Jersey and/or New York City Agencies such as: NYCDDC, NYCDEP, MTA and/or NJDOT
