Job Description - Community Transportation Specialist

Do you have a knack for detail, enjoy working with data, and want to make a difference in the lives of others? Merrick, Inc. is looking for a Community Transportation Specialist to ensure accurate billing and client data management that supports our transportation services. This role is vital to keeping services reliable, compliant, and accessible for the individuals we serve.



Merrick, Inc. offers a wide variety of life enrichment, employment, and vocational rehabilitation services to more than 375 clients. We are proud to be the largest day program in Ramsey County, with a 60-year history of leadership in person-centered planning, self-advocacy, meaningful work options, and continuous innovation.



As a Community Transportation Specialist, you will:



  • Enter and maintain client and service agreement information in our client billing system (Pavillio).

  • Monitor compliance to prevent billing risks.

  • Review claim data and make timely corrections to ensure accuracy.

  • Serve as a backup to other positions within the department, supporting teamwork and flexibility.

  • Build positive, professional relationships with coworkers, passengers, families, case managers, and transportation providers.

Qualifications we’re looking for:



  • High School Diploma.

  • Strong data entry skills with advanced Microsoft Excel experience.

  • Comfort using electronic devices, databases, and internet-based applications.

  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands independently and work with minimal supervision.

  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check after a conditional offer.
