As we continue to expand across South Texas, we are seeking an experienced Compliance & Safety Director to lead our organization-wide compliance and safety initiatives across our clinics and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).

Position Summary

The Compliance & Safety Director is responsible for leading Epic Pain Management's compliance, regulatory, and workplace safety programs across all clinic locations and the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations while promoting a culture of ethics, accountability, patient safety, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a strategic healthcare leader with strong experience in healthcare compliance, regulatory audits, investigations, policy development, and workplace safety who can effectively partner with executive leadership to reduce organizational risk and maintain regulatory excellence.

Key Responsibilities 

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's compliance program across all clinic and ASC locations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare laws and regulations and communicate updates to leadership.
  • Maintain organizational compliance policies, procedures, and standards.

Audits & Accreditation

  • Conduct internal compliance audits, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews.
  • Coordinate organizational readiness for accreditation surveys, inspections, and regulatory audits, including Quad A standards.
  • Develop and monitor corrective action plans following audits and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and reporting required by regulatory agencies.

Risk Management & Investigations

  • Investigate compliance concerns, HIPAA incidents, regulatory violations, and workplace safety issues.
  • Identify organizational risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to reduce operational and regulatory risk.
  • Maintain confidentiality and documentation throughout investigative processes.

Safety Program Management

  • Oversee workplace safety initiatives and OSHA compliance.
  • Monitor compliance with radiation safety, medication management, controlled substance regulations, and infection prevention standards.
  • Promote employee and patient safety through proactive safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness and workplace safety programs.

Education & Leadership

  • Develop and deliver compliance and safety training programs for employees and leadership.
  • Provide guidance regarding regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Partner with physicians, department leaders, and executive leadership to promote a culture of compliance and accountability.
  • Support organizational quality improvement and risk management initiatives.

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare compliance experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • HIPAA
  • OSHA
  • Healthcare compliance regulations
  • Risk management principles
  • Regulatory audits and investigations
  • Policy and procedure development
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) regulations
  • Experience conducting compliance audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Experience developing and implementing compliance and safety programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred

  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or another relevant compliance certification.
  • Experience in pain management, ambulatory surgery centers (ASC), or multi-site healthcare organizations.
  • Experience with Quad A accreditation standards and survey readiness.
  • Experience with quality improvement and healthcare risk management.
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
