Job Type: Full-time, Benefit-eligible Position 

Salary: $75,000-85,000  

Sign on bonus: $1000 Sign on Longevity bonus (with $500 paid out after 6 months and the rest paid out after 12 months) 

Location: Newton, MA 

Supervisor: P2P Program Director 

Schedule: 40 Hours per week/Full Time (Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm, Saturdays and Sundays with flex time). This is an onsite, in person role. 

PURPOSE:  

Pathway to Possible is a congregate care facility that provides independent living and assisted living for adults with developmental disabilities in the Newton and Wellesley areas. The program provides housing and support services for adults referred to us by the Department of Developmental Services. In addition to housing the Program goal is to: 

  • Develop skills and abilities needed to be productive members of their residential program. 
  • Develop skills and abilities needed to live as independently as able. 
  • Establish and promote lifelong connections. 

Pathway to Possible is responsible for providing a safe and healthy environment, and a welcoming atmosphere, while ensuring the safety of the residents.  

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Compliance and Training Specialist establishes the agencywide training agenda and adopts or develops training curriculum in accordance with state guidelines and presenting P2P client needs.  This includes designing, implementing, and onboarding new staff training, ensuring compliance with MAP, CPR/1st Aid, and implementing mandatory state trainings.  This position is responsible for tracking agency progress toward licensing through DDS Office of Quality Enhancement (OQE). In addition, this role is part of the clinical team and works collaboratively with the Program Director, the Clinical Director, and the Director of Health Services. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • In collaboration with the Clinical team, establish a direct care training curriculum based on state requirements and presenting P2P client needs. 
  • Integrate agency-wide training via the online Relias platform, to track and standardize training modules. Maintain all program records on agency training in accordance with state and federal requirements. 
  • Attend weekly program manager meetings and house audits. Provide regular documented tracking and communication mechanisms to ensure P2P direct care professionals have completed required training and can maintain clinical and financial record keeping in adherence with the state requirements, ensuring client safety and licensure compliance. 
  • Be an active member of the management team, participating in agency-wide events. 
  • Attend monthly staff meetings at each home, establishing the training agenda and implementing required trainings at each meeting,  
  • Ensure that training related to Supportive and Protective Devices, specialized diets, and medical protocols are scheduled with the Director of Health Services, maintain the medical portion of the OQE documentation, and if necessary, have protocols reviewed and approved by Human Rights Committee. 
  • Ensure all safety plans are accurate and current, oversee the execution of quarterly fire drills and ensure all required staff are trained in safety plan protocols. 
  • Participate in the Department of Developmental Services training programs as well as other relevant and adjacent program training opportunities. 
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Pathway to Possible (P2P) Personnel Policies and Procedures and the P2P Policies to Promote Human Dignity. 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 

  • A bachelor's degree in human services or related fields is preferred. 
  • A graduate degree and/or 5 years of program management experience is preferred. 
  • Skilled public speaker and training facilitator- ability to present materials via differentiated instruction. 
  • A commitment to the empowerment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 
  • Expertise with the DDS delivery system, the Office of Quality Enhancement regulations, and MAP knowledge.  MAP certification preferred. 
  • First AID and CPR Certified equired. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to be used across the P2P Community. 
  • A cleared search of finger printing through the DDS criminal background check. 

Other requirements: 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience with Relias and ICentrix a plus. 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States. 
  • Clearance of CORI and SORI background checks as required by state and federal law. 
  • Clearance of DPPC registry as required by state law 
  • Comfortable working in an environment with a therapeutic cat.
