We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our Compliance, Credentialing, Licensing, and Accreditation (CCLA) team. This role ensures our organization remains in compliance with federal, state, and accrediting body requirements (including Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and insurance contracts).The Compliance Specialist will partner with the Compliance Officer and leadership to identify risks, implement policies, and monitor adherence to standards. This position integrates compliance oversight with quality improvement initiatives, helping ensure staff are trained, risks are mitigated, and client care consistently meets the highest standards.


This is a primarily on-site position in Milton, New Hampshire, along with flexible travel (10–15%) for audits, surveys, and facility support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Learning Management System (Relias) to ensure staff meet all training requirements, and manage compliance software to maintain adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Lead and implement necessary edits to the policies and procedures to ensure compliance with facility and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage facility licenses and accreditations, including new applications, renewals, and regulatory changes.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulators, accreditors, and surveyors at assigned facilities.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, mock surveys, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state, accrediting body, and insurance requirements.
  • Support compliance related to electronic medical records (KIPU), including chart audits, documentation reviews, and system access monitoring.
  • Develop and monitor corrective action plans in response to audit findings, violations, or complaints.
  • Communicate regulatory updates and guidance to leadership across all states of operation.
  • Support compliance in physical site, life safety, and environment of care standards.
  • Report critical incidents and required notifications to licensing and accrediting agencies.
  • Mentor staff and foster a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Escalate significant deficiencies or risks to Corporate Compliance leadership.
  • Perform other compliance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ compliance experience in behavioral health or healthcare.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess regulatory risk and summarize complex findings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in residential or outpatient behavioral health preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10–15% of the time.
