Compost- Sprinkler Technician

About the role:

Silver Creek Materials (SCM) is a surface mining, large-scale composting, and recycling operation on the West Side of Fort Worth. SCM is seeking a Sprinkler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of our pumping systems. Reporting to the Compost and Liquids Director, you'll be responsible for maintaining equipment and ensuring optimal flow and performance. From managing pumps to maintaining pipes and valves, your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our irrigation systems.

What you'll do:

• Ability to comprehend complex pumping/plumbing systems

• Valves, pipes, understand flow, etc.

• Maintain pumps and agricultural sprinklers

• Keep equipment clean and in good operating condition
• Maintain pipes

• HDPE fusion
• Make changes to plumbing as system needs change

• Maintain drains

• Ensure adequate flow

• Maintain/manage small pump inventory

• Gas powered trash pumps
• Electric sump pumps
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

• A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience operating a farm tractor is a plus.
• Ability to meet the schedule requirements and maintain reliable attendance.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with various personality and attitude types.
• Ability to memorize and recall detailed information.
• Ability to stand on your feet in an outdoor environment for long periods of time.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic to exceed company and personal goals.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions as needed.
• Ability to navigate uneven ground surfaces.
• Valid Driver's License preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Must comply with background check and Drug-free Workplace Policy
• Ability to perform limited physical tasks, including lifting up to 25lbs.
