Job Summary

The Compounder will be responsible for the manufacturing of bulk cosmetic products to be filled and packed as required by the daily production schedule. This operation must be performed with safety as a primary objective, while strictly adhering to established GMP, safety, and regulatory procedures specific to cosmetic manufacturing.

Responsibilities

    • Accurately weigh, measure, and blend raw materials according to specified formulas for the production of creams, lotions, gels, serums, and other cosmetic products.
    • Read and interpret batch records and compounding instructions to ensure all specifications and processing requirements are met.
    • Operate and monitor mixing and blending equipment to ensure correct setup, loading, and operation during the manufacturing process.
    • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment such as scales, mixers, and meters to ensure accuracy and compliance with SOPs.
    • Adjust product characteristics such as pH and viscosity as required, based on in-process testing, prior to release to the filling lines.
    • Perform batch formulation using volumetric and gravimetric processes, in accordance with detailed batch record specifications.
    • Clean and sanitize all compounding equipment, utensils, tanks, and production areas per established SOPs and cGMP requirements for cosmetic production.
    • Accurately complete batch documentation, including material usage and yield reporting, in compliance with regulatory and quality assurance standards.
    • Work closely with the Quality Assurance and Production teams to ensure timely and compliant product manufacturing.
    • Support production schedules by assisting with various tasks within the compounding department as needed.
    • 5+ years of experience in cosmetic compounding or similar personal care product manufacturing.
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Strong ability to measure and handle chemicals in both powder and liquid form, with a solid understanding of cosmetic formulation processes.
    • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) specific to cosmetic or personal care production.
    • Familiarity with transfer systems including pumps, hoses, and valves for moving bulk materials from compounding to holding or filling tanks.
    • Ability to read and follow SOPs, safety procedures, and batch records accurately.
    • Effective multitasking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
