Job Description - Concessionaire (Seasonal)

CONCESSIONAIRE - Summer Seasonal 


Part-time, non-exempt, non-benefitted position


Summer seasonal hours, up to 39 hours/week



APPLICATION CLOSING DATE:

General Statement of Duties: The Concessionaire performs various functions related to the operation of Aquatic department concessions; does related work per employee manual and otherwise as assigned; follows safe food handling practices.


 


Distinguishing Features of the Class: The Concessionaire facilitates efficient customer service in the areas of concession sales and food preparation. Concessionaires work under the general guidance of the Aquatics Coordinators and the supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor. At times they may be required to work independently when supervision is not available, in this instance they will take direction and report to the Aquatics Supervisor, on shift Aquatics Head Lifeguard or Aquatics Lead.



EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES PERFORMED:

  • Prepare all needed concession items for patrons.

  • Follow all appropriate rules and regulations regarding food storage, preparation, and service, including safe food handling procedures, as required by the Lane County Health Department and the Oregon Health Authority.

  • Ensure the facility is in compliance with applicable Lane County Health Department and Oregon Health Authority codes and standards at all times, in preparation for inspection.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public.

  • Maintain clean, presentable work area.

  • Restock supplies and maintain inventory list and notify Aquatics Coordinator when food items are running low by submitting an online inventory form.

  • Know and help enforce all rules and policies of WPRD and the Aquatics department consistently.

  • Maintain productivity independently during slow times and work efficiently during high demand times.

  • Arrive at work prepared and ready to assume duties at the start of shift.

  • Wear protective gear as necessary in addition to wearing department-issued uniforms at all times while on duty. Present a professional appearance and attitude.

  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.

  • Participate in in-service trainings and all mandatory meetings.

  • Be familiar with all state and local rules and/or regulations governing Food Workers, including those promulgated by the Oregon Health Authority.



DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:



Knowledge: Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as well as understanding basic computer skills.


 


Skills: Prepare concessions items, effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills, providing excellent customer service.


 


Abilities: Work successfully with community members of all ages and staff, deal effectively with behavioral problems of community members; provide clear instructions and directions; understand and follow oral and written instructions.


 


Physical Demands of the Position: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly walk and stand for extended periods of time as well as occasionally carrying objects weighing 50 pounds or greater.  


 


Preferred Experience and Training: Previous customer service or food service experience is desirable.


 


Necessary Special Requirements: Must complete the Oregon Health Authority Foodborne Illness Prevention Program within one month of hire. Must complete all required training and shadow shifts.

Hours & Shifts: 



  • Shifts will be available when Splash! is open during the summer. 

  • Additional hours are required for departmental meetings, in-service trainings, opening/closing duties, and occasional events.
