Position Summary:
We are seeking a Concrete Finisher & Skilled Laborer with hands-on experience in marine environments. This role involves working on waterfront structures, often in tidal or challenging conditions. Applicants must be comfortable working on and around water, on barges, docks, or over open water with proper safety equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Form, pour, and finish concrete for marine structures (e.g., seawalls, boat ramps, pilings, and foundations)
Work with marine-grade concrete, rebar, and other structural materials
Operate hand and power tools including trowels, screeds, floats, and cutting tools
Mix, place, level, and cure concrete in both land-based and over-water applications
Assist with setting forms, installing pilings, and driving sheeting
Load/unload materials, prep work sites, and maintain cleanliness and safety
Follow site-specific safety protocols and wear required PPE
Work collaboratively with marine crews, divers, and heavy equipment operators
Requirements:
2+ years of concrete finishing or skilled construction labor (marine experience strongly preferred)
Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather and marine conditions
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Must be reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Experience operating small equipment (e.g., saws, mixers, skid steers, pumps)
Familiarity with marine safety practices, fall protection, and confined space procedures is a plus
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
Must be able to obtain TWIC badge and Port badges to access Port Facilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience on marine job sites, barges, or docks
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Basic knowledge of tide cycles and working near/in water
