Project Manager – Concrete Construction

About the Opportunity

A well-established, nationwide concrete contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a construction professional with a strong background in self-perform concrete construction, estimating, project management, and cost control.

The company works on large-scale projects across a variety of markets, including commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, education, semiconductor, and data center construction.

The Project Manager will have ownership of projects from preconstruction and estimating through project execution and closeout, working closely with clients, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage concrete construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout


• Prepare and review detailed estimates, takeoffs, budgets, and proposals


• Identify and quantify concrete scope and develop project execution strategies


• Review contracts, establish project budgets, cost codes, and schedules


• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts


• Coordinate with field operations to ensure projects are properly staffed, scheduled, and executed


• Monitor labor, material, equipment, and production costs against project budgets


• Review daily job cost reports and take corrective action when necessary


• Manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and other project documentation


• Develop and negotiate change orders based on project scope and customer requirements


• Communicate project status, financial performance, schedule updates, and potential issues to leadership and clients


• Work closely with Project Leads, Superintendents, estimators, and field personnel to ensure project goals are met


• Maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors


• Identify project risks, solutions, and opportunities throughout the construction process


• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements


• Lead the project closeout process, including final documentation, punch list, and financial reconciliation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction project management and/or estimating experience


• Experience with a self-performing General Contractor or concrete contractor


• Concrete construction experience required


• Strong background managing commercial and/or industrial concrete projects


• Experience managing projects valued at $1M+


• Strong understanding of construction processes, cost control, scheduling, and project administration


• Previous experience performing estimates, quantity takeoffs, bids, and proposals


• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents


• Strong communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook


• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required
