What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a skilled Software Configurator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience with tools like Jira. You will be responsible for configuring and customizing software applications to meet specific business requirements. This role reports to the Digital Solutions Manager and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.

What You Will Do:

Configuration Management: 

• Manage and maintain software configurations throughout the SDLC.
• Implement and enforce configuration management best practices.
• Utilize version control systems to track changes and maintain code integrity.

Software Configuration: 

• Configure and customize software applications to meet specific business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues.
• Create and maintain configuration documentation.

Testing and Quality Assurance: 

• Perform functional and non-functional testing of software applications.
• Identify and report software defects and bugs.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and improve software quality.
• Identify and fulfill any test data needs

Tool Administration: 

• Administer and maintain software development tools, including Jira.
• Configure and customize tools to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
• Provide technical support to users of software development tools.

Learning and Adaptation: 

• Stay up-to-date with the latest software technologies and trends.
• Quickly learn and adapt to new software tools and configurations.
• Proactively seek out opportunities to improve skills and knowledge.

Communication and Collaboration: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA and product managers to understand requirements and effectively communicate development and testing plans.

Requirements

What We Require:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
• 2-4 years of experience in IT / Software configurations.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC and software development methodologies. 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
• Experience with software configuration management tools and practices. 
• Strong SQL skills
• Proficiency in using Jira and other project management tools. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Insurance domain experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Agile test management tools such as Xray preferred.
• Experience with AnnuityNet , FireLight or Affirm (DTCC order entry application) preferred.
