Configuration Management Analyst

Overview: 

Signalink is looking to hire a Configuration Management Analyst who will work with a diverse team comprised of engineering, logistics and aircraft professionals.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Apply well-developed analytical skills, CM methodologies, and established military/industry standards to manage configuration data across system development, integration, testing, and sustainment.


• Maintain configuration baselines for hardware, software, documentation, and interface control, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and full traceability.


• Review and track Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Notices of Revision (NORs); coordinate with engineering and program teams to reconcile discrepancies and maintain current documentation.


• Support the integration and review of technical data packages, drawings, specifications, version histories, and change documentation.


• Validate configuration data in CM databases, ensuring updates are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable standards.


• Prepare reports, metrics, and audit findings for program leadership and configuration control boards.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma


• 10–15 years’ experience in configuration management, technical data management, or a similar discipline, preferably within DoD or aviation programs


• Familiarity with CM processes such as configuration identification, control, status accounting, verification/audit, and document control


• Experience working with CM/PLM systems or databases (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, MIL-STD-based systems)


• Ability to travel up to 10%


• Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

• Knowledge of Army or DoD CM standards and documentation requirements, including MIL-HDBK-61, EIA-649, and related policies


• Proficiency in interpreting and managing technical documentation such as engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), interface control documents (ICDs), and software versioning artifacts


• Understanding of lifecycle support for aviation systems, including how configuration decisions affect sustainment, logistics, and airworthiness


• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment
