Location: Reston, VA (Onsite)
Clearance: TS/SCI required
Contract Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Rate: $75–$90/hr (W2)

Our client is hiring a Software Configuration Manager to own configuration control, documentation, and version integrity for mission-critical software systems. This is a key role ensuring traceability, compliance, and security alignment across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain software configuration processes, tooling, and documentation

• Manage version control, release tracking, and configuration audits

• Ensure integrity and security of software baselines in line with IA best practices

• Collaborate with development, systems, QA, and cybersecurity teams

• Automate traceability, change tracking, and baseline reporting

• Align SCM with RMF, NIST, and DoD requirements

• Maintain and report on configuration status to internal and client stakeholders

Must-Haves:

• 10+ years in software configuration management or release engineering

• Experience with Git, GitLab CI/CD, or similar SCM tools

• Familiarity with IA principles in secure environments

• Strong documentation and change control skills

• IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent)

• Bachelor’s in IT, Engineering, or related field

Nice to Have:

• RMF, DoD STIGs, or NIST framework experience

• Agile or DevSecOps familiarity

• Certifications: CISSP, Certified Configuration Manager (CCM)

• Exposure to containerization (e.g., Docker), automated build/release pipelines
