As part of a congregation team at The Austin Stone Community Church, the Operations Director (COD) is responsible for ensuring each of the congregation ministries performs efficiently and effectively in order to make disciples, multiply communities, and ultimately plant churches. The COD will ensure that the contextualized ministry of the congregation is consistent with the leadership, culture, philosophies and strategies of The Austin Stone, and that this ministry effectively utilizes the resources entrusted to the congregation team. The COD will report to the Congregation Pastor.
Administration - Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and implement ministry programming. Contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation, and assessment. Able to create and manage a ministry budget. Ability to show sensitivity and confidence in leading, serving, inspiring, managing, and equipping the staff in their tactical implementation of ministry goals.
Communication - Has clarity of speech and proper use of grammar. Demonstrated capacity to inspire, instruct, and encourage through effective communication in various settings. Able to communicate and work within a complex organizational structure with multiple layers of input. Collaborate across the organization and with various ministry partners. Cultivate purpose-driven, relational networks.
Organizational Intelligence - Capacity to understand The Austin Stone ministry framework and capability to contextualize strategy in a variety of environments. Able to successfully develop new and better ways to work and promote a continuous improvement mentality. Implement change with excellence.
Performance Management - Skilled in assessment of ministry effectiveness and supporting decision making through data acquisition and analysis. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully and can efficiently execute on multiple priorities/plans/ideas. Skilled in strategic thinking and analysis, logical oversight, long-term project management, and cost-benefit analysis.
Collaborative Leadership - Strong complementary leadership skills and capacity to lead in concert with other leaders. Demonstrated ability to network and connect with leaders toward Kingdom outcomes. Ability to integrate multiple perspectives and synthesize them into a cohesive plan.
Leadership Development - Skilled at multiplying leaders (staff, deacons, volunteers, etc.) who can communicate and uphold the values of The Austin Stone. Able to supervise and lead a motivated and diverse group of people by establishing a clear vision for the team, training and developing talent, providing feedback and ensuring the proper learning for each team member.

As part of our child safety program, employees in this role will be required to participate in a child safety screening and training process upon hire.
