Salary: $75,000–$110,000 (DOE) + Bonus + Benefits

Construction Accountant (WIP & Job Costing exp. req.) Description

Our client, a rapidly growing contractor in the Atlanta area, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team in Marietta, GA. Reporting directly to the CEO and Fractional CFO, this is a pivotal role supporting job cost tracking, WIP reporting, and month-end close activities. You’ll work closely with department managers and leadership to help scale accounting operations and bring financial clarity to projects. This is a growth-focused opportunity with potential to evolve into a leadership position over time. 

Construction Accountant (WIP & Job Costing exp. req.) Responsibilities

•    Track weekly job costs and support WIP reporting processes
•    Reconcile accounts, vendor statements, and intercompany transactions
•    Assist with month-end close, audits, and financial statement preparation
•    Support project managers with budget-to-actuals reporting
•    Manage job setup, POs, and cost tracking in company software
•    Prepare cash flow forecasts and budget analyses
•    Maintain accounting data for bonding and insurance reporting
•    Help improve accounting controls and processes as team scales

Construction Accountant (WIP & Job Costing exp. req.) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree required
•    3+ years of accounting in construction trade industry experience required
•    Job cost accounting and WIP reporting experience required
•    GAAP knowledge and strong reconciliation skills required
•    Proficiency with accounting and construction software required
