Position Description:
We are looking for a Construction Engineer to join our Construction Team in our Taylor office. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering and at least five years of experience with construction related projects. Candidates must have a valid driver's license. This position requires excellent organizational skills in order to accommodate multiple tasks simultaneously and excellent communication skills when dealing with all individuals at all levels.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Interpret project plans and specifications
- Schedule and coordinate inspection, testing and survey staff
- Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities
- Maintain project files and record drawings
- Prepare construction reports
- Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
- Review technical data for adherence with project requirements
- Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
- Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist in the preparation of proposals
- Assist Project Managers
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, seminars and/or training classes, etc.
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering
Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience with construction related projects
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills
