Key Responsibilities & Time Breakdown:
Heavy Equipment Operation – 60%
Operate dozers (GPS tremble systems) forklifts, excavators, dump trucks, skid steers, and other heavy machinery.
Safely load, haul, and unload materials and equipment.
Excavate and backfill trenches, foundations, and footings to precise specifications.
Conduct site grading to support accurate construction layouts.
Site Maintenance & General Labor – 25%
Assist with grading, snow removal, and exposing utilities.
Keep job sites organized, clean, and compliant.
Maintain and store tools, machinery, and materials.
Leadership & Team Collaboration – 10%
Support the Excavation Foreman to hit project timelines.
Mentor new team members and contribute to training.
Promote job site safety, quality, and morale.
Documentation & Compliance – 5%
Complete daily inspections and log equipment performance.
Report equipment maintenance needs and issues promptly.
Follow all OSHA and internal safety regulations.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Required:
2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in excavation, grading, or construction.
Valid CDL License (Class A or B) and a clean driving record.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints & site plans.
Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Experience with underground utility work.
Proficiency with telehandlers, boom lifts, and other specialized equipment.
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
Lift and carry 50 lbs regularly, 80 lbs occasionally.
Work in all weather conditions on active job sites.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
