Construction Estimator

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our growing team in Denver, Colorado. This position requires expertise in roofing, as well as knowledge of windows, siding, painting, and gutter systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects, ensuring all materials, labor, and other costs are accounted for. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure all estimates are aligned with project requirements and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other construction documents to determine project requirements and scope.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for roofing, windows, siding, painting, and gutter systems based on the scope of work and materials.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather data for accurate cost estimation.
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to obtain competitive bids for materials and labor costs.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with project specifications.
• Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs and provide accurate project cost estimates.
• Work closely with the sales team to assist in preparing bids and proposals for potential projects.
• Track changes in project scope and update estimates as necessary.
• Ensure estimates account for all project variables, including labor, material costs, equipment, and potential contingencies.
• Stay current with industry trends, material pricing, and local construction codes and regulations.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of pricing for materials, labor, and other construction-related costs.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating with a focus on roofing, windows, siding, painting, and gutters.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Certifications: Any relevant certifications in construction or estimating (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator, Project Management Professional) are a plus.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes related to roofing, windows, siding, painting, and gutter systems.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Buildertrend, or similar tools).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and construction regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
