Construction Field Surveyor – Northeast Louisiana

D&J Construction Company, a leading highway contractor in Northeast Louisiana, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Field Surveyor to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring precise surveying and mapping of construction sites to support project accuracy and efficiency.

Position Overview:  The Construction Field Surveyor will be responsible for conducting topographic surveys, operating advanced surveying equipment, and collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure precise site measurements and layouts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform topographic surveys to establish and verify site control points, cross-sections, and profiles.


• Calibrate, set up, operate, and maintain Total Station, GPS, and Machine Control points.


• Conduct levels, cross-sections, and layouts for construction activities.


• Analyze survey data and prepare detailed reports outlining findings.


• Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Field Surveyor.


• Proficiency in surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.


• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining independence on tasks.


• Must be reliable and dependable with strong time management skills.

Additional Information & Requirements:

• Work hours vary based on seasonal workload, with primarily daytime 10-12 hour shifts.


• Monday through Friday schedule with some Saturday work required.


• Must have a valid driver’s license.


• Must have a valid email address for communication.


• Pre-employment drug screening required.
