Construction Inspection Resident Engineer NIV

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Construction Resident Engineer (RE) with experience in force main installation and CIPP slip lining for a project in Camillus, NY (Onondaga County). This role begins in mid to late October 2025 and requires overseeing and inspecting construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory standards. The RE will coordinate directly with contractors, monitor progress, and document project activities from initiation through completion. The hours for this position are 7:00 AM EDT to 3:30 PM EDT. Additional overtime as needed.

What you'll be able to do:

Construction Oversight:


• Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications.

• Conduct daily field inspections and document site activities and progress.

• Identify and document any construction issues, non-conformance, or safety concerns.

• Promote and enforce safety practices in accordance with OSHA and project-specific standards.

Project Administration:

• Maintain daily reports covering labor, equipment, materials, and work progress.

• Track quantities and process contractor payment applications.

• Utilize Procore and other project administration software to document field activities.

• Coordinate materials testing, verification, and inspection procedures.. Communicate regularly client representatives regarding project status.

The minimum requirements we seek:

• NICET Level IV certification or equivalent experience (required).
• At least 10 years of relevant field inspection experience, preferably with force main sewer and CIPP slip lining projects.
• Proficiency in computer-aided project administration software (Procore preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (preferred). Equivalent experience may be considered.
• OSHA 10 certification and strong knowledge of construction site safety practices.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to and between project locations in Onondaga County.
