Construction Inspector (PS1233)

The Greenridge Group, a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join the LAWA Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division. This role supports multiple projects within the Tenant Improvement Program, primarily focusing on building disciplines. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of LA City Building Codes, ADA requirements, and experience with large-scale airport or public facility projects.

*Salary Range: $150K/Year-$160K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of building and terminal construction projects.
• Review and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Prepare accurate daily inspection reports (WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW).
• Verify contractor compliance with codes, safety regulations, and LAWA standards.
• Support special inspections and testing activities with contractors, engineers, and third-party agencies.
• Track and document time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities.
• Assist in validating contractor progress payment requests.
• Use PM software (PMWeb, Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office) for efficient inspection documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of inspection experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of LA City Building Code and ADA requirements.
• Cal-OSHA 30-hour certification.
• Training in fall protection equipment and harness use.
• Confined space awareness certification.
• NFPA 70E certification required for electrical inspectors.
• Ability to walk long distances across terminals, climb ladders/scaffolds, and enter confined spaces.
• Must obtain LAWA SIDA badge prior to start.
• Ability to work day, swing, modified, or night shifts (including weekends as required).

Preferred Qualifications

• ICC certifications and Deputy Inspector Licenses.
• Experience inspecting demolition, structural/nonstructural concrete, utilities, framing, finishes, and fire-rated components in large-scale airport/public facilities.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Education

• High school diploma (or equivalent).
