Position Summary:

Boyd & Jenerette is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our Jacksonville office. Location & Commitments:

  • Practice Area / Department: Construction
  • Status: Full-time / Non-Exempt
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week.
  • Work Location: In-Office: This position will report to work at our office in Jacksonville (Opportunity for hybrid after successful training period).

Responsibilities:

  • Draft legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and contracts.
  • Schedule and organize client meetings, hearings, and attorney conferences.
  • Coordinate with court reporters, expert witnesses, and other services.
  • Prepare expense reports and check requests.
  • Manage attorneys' calendars and Outlook email.
  • Assist with case screening, investigation, and e-filing pleadings.
  • Prepare discovery documents and assist with pretrial prep.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Competencies:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role (insurance defense preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of court and administrative proceedings.
  • Familiarity with lawsuit summaries, litigation files, and legal record maintenance.
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
