As a Construction Manager, you'll serve as the crucial bridge between field operations and project management, ensuring the successful delivery of cutting-edge solar energy infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead diverse teams, manage complex construction operations, and contribute to America's clean energy transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the field-level quarterback for construction projects, coordinating between contractors and project management
Manage preconstruction activities including contract document review, safety plan implementation, and kickoff meetings
Oversee construction operations ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and environmental compliance
Lead and coordinate NextEra teams including environmental specialists, safety personnel, and subject matter experts
Generate accurate project reports and documentation for executive leadership
Manage contractor relationships and ensure zero-injury project completion
Coordinate material delivery schedules and resolve construction challenges
Implement and monitor quality assurance/quality control processes
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of construction management experience, preferably in energy/utility projects
Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols and OSHA regulations
Experience with project scheduling software (P6, MS Project)
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements (SWPPP, permits)
Experience managing multiple contractors and subcontractors
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
