Construction Managers

GovFirst is seeking to hire multiple Construction Managers to support our roadway, tunnel, and bridge maintenance and construction projects in various locations of Virginia which includes Bristol, Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Newport News, Suffolk, Surry, Salem, Lynchburg, Staunton, Culpeper & Richmond, VA within the Transportation Operations Division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and conduct preconstruction and progress meetings.
  

• Administer contract documents and coordinate with contracted field forces.
  

• Interpret plans, specifications, provisions, policies, and procedures; follow oral and written instructions.
  

• Monitor projects to ensure adherence to budget and schedule.
  

• Record daily activities, quantities, locations, and issues in the field, and participate in solutions for contractual challenges.
  

• Verify invoices and respond promptly to payment issues.
  

• Create, review, and verify punch list items at the completion of projects.
  

• Occasionally review plans and perform inspection duties as needed.
  

Requirements

• Extensive managerial experience with roadway, tunnel, and bridge maintenance and construction projects.
  

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project administration, and field supervision.
  

• Ability to interpret complex plans and specifications accurately.
  

• Experience with budget management and schedule adherence.
  

• Strong documentation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  

• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
