Job Description - Construction Materials Testing Technician

Construction Materials Testing Technician – Full-Time


Paducah, Kentucky


Starts at $25 per hour


 


We are looking to add a Construction Materials Testing Technician to our team.  At Bacon Farmer Workman Engineering & Testing, Inc./Marcum Engineering, LLC we are people first. Essential Job Functions:


In this position, you will be responsible for quality control, construction monitoring, evaluating materials and workmanship, and interpreting contract documents.  You will also perform soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete testing; inspection of reinforcing steel, wood framing, structural steel, light gauge metal framing; seismic inspection of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and ceiling grid.  All these will require frequent reporting to the project manager and will make you an essential part of ensuring projects are completed in a timely and workmanlike manner. 



Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to move, lift, or carry objects or materials up to 50 lbs. without assistance

  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding

  • Ability to physically maneuver construction sites and excavations

  • Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communications in the English language, including the ability to communicate directly and over the telephone and be understood.



Education/Experience:



  • Candidates with certifications of ACI, NICET, Troxler Nuclear Density, ASNT and/or AWS-CWI are preferred, but not required

  • Driver’s license and good driving record are required
